at my previous sales job, I used texting to make customers aware of promotions, sales and contracting opportunities. The phone I had could send out to so many numbers at a time. I assume smart phones could do this. Once the numbers were entered in a group. you could send out a text in seconds to the group. I got good response almost instantly. I would think you could setup your own plan for a lot less than Farmapp. I don't think it would be hard to gather numbers to text customers and directly from you would be more personal. I think it could be setup for considerable less than Farmapp.

I just looked at my Samsung 3 and a group could be setup on it . I would assume that newer android and fruit phones could do it better and faster. a good project for kids to do.

That is what I was thinking too. I use a free service with my classes at school called Remind https://www.remind.com/

I like using it, parents like it, kids like it. I am sure there is some system like that I could use for sales.

seems like an investment for the market to make rather than individual growers. i doubt any increase in sales for an individual grower would offset the cost.

I agree that this may be something for the market to send, but all the free stuff available why spend on this app. Facebook is affective for notify about my markets
