I don't think I could accept that. If the contractor knew this was a possibility, he should have advised you prior to contract...that tiles may be fragile and break...letting you decide to accept it or not.

If he did not advise up front to that effect, then he needs to make it right...

So are they not suppose to be evenly spaced out either?

thanks everyone. i'm feeling more validated. blonde08, the spacing is actually OK - the picture is warped for some reason. and fyi i called the tile place the contractor got my tile from and they agreed - told me that the marble is most prone to breakage and contractors replace them...will post a complete picture of the kitchen as an fyi.

I've had some projects with that particular mosaic sheet and yes those marble pieces are fragile. Even from picking up the sample and constantly handling to show clients, a couple of the pieces will develop fractures. The slate variations of that collection are stronger. But by the looks of it alot of grout got in between the cracks. Hopefully the contractor is willing to work with you to replace the worst spots.
