Well my home page lists the latest postings and the latest comments in reverse date order. This posting that I'm responding to is at the top of my list because of Leafeanator's response of 1 hour ago, which is shown in the far right-hand column. Then there are two postings which have not received replies, then a posting that had a response 5 hours ago, and on and on. So I'm getting what krnuttle apparently isn't, but I don't recall that I did anything at all to cause it to be that way. I've been here for around 15 years, and I really don't have a problem with the new format. I don't see any advantage to it, and would have preferred that they leave it alone, but it's no big deal.

OP: I guess it make sense if you assume that the last post to the thread will move the thread to the top of the list.

It would make more sense if instead initial date of the post, the last date and time of the last comment was posted. When you see a date and 3 comments followed by another date and four comments it in not obvious what is going on.
