Wild Garlic questions

I recently bought a house that has some plants that I have questions about. I'm a newbie gardener and I was told that there is wild garlic growing under one of the trees. It's true, I've seen it and when I've occasionally clipped it with the tractor, it smells incredible. I wouldn't say "wild" necessarily since it's under the single tree in the front yard, so someone obviously planted it there. With both former occupants deceased, I can't just ask. Unfortunately I never took pictures of it last summer and it obviously hasn't come up yet this year. Any ideas on what parts to eat and when/how to harvest? The plants get about 2 feet tall and have hard clusters of clove-looking seeds at the top of the plant. Thank you for any suggestions.
