Hi everyone! I do not have any built in closets in my apartment. To fox that, we bought 4 ikea Pax wardrobes and made a u-shape with them. That means that the back of two of the closets are exposed to the bedroom. I need to decide how to cover them. A few people have suggested curtains but I don't like the idea that curtains could move and expose the back underneath anyway. I saw an idea where someone covered them with wood. I think that is interesting, but I am looking for something more modern looking. For the closet interior we picked a dark color and went for a very different look then the idea of bright wood (pic attached). We thought about using wood floor pieces in a dark grey or brown but the home depot / loews / baumarkt / hornbach employees keep telling us it just wont work or the wood floor options they have are 500euro (we are in Germany so I have also posted this in German). The home improvement store want to push us towards wall panels but that stuff looks so flimsy- I would like to avoid it. I also thought about somehow stretching fabric onto frames to make like a smooth leather wall, but I am not sure if that is realistic. Part of the trouble is that the frame of the pax is so thin and it is very difficult to affix things to the back of the Pax itself. They are frames with a cardboard piece for a back essentially. I would really appreciate ideas for a modern look that would cost around 200 or less. If anyone has any ideas please share! Thank you!
