How long should I wait before I plunge a rooted cutting (from last summer) of Incense into the ground? What temperatures should I look for to not shock it into death or dormancy?

It's quite actively growing and newly emerged shoots are about eight inches high now, I believe it has sensed spring from the south-facing kitchen window.
