Fixing Scary Sprinklers to Auto.

My parents once hooked up auto-matic sprinklers, then had to get rid of them. The pipes always busted. At least 5 times I can think of, we had a fountain going off while not home.

I am honestly afraid to even turn them on, I am not even joking, The pressure on it is scary. That noise, and all those times it blew in past. It actually hasn't blown up in like 5 years, but that is cause I play it toooo safe with no auto-start sprinklers.

On top of this, the pipes coming from the street leaked twice last year, but my plumber neighbor finally put in a new metal pipe making it super strong, so now its all metal going all the way up to the top to sprinklers and all the way into the house, yet it still makes crazy pressure noises when I turn on sprinklers with green bar.

So my question:
I don't seem to have a problem with the sprinkler heads, but where I turn them on. I have 3 pipes going out, where I twist them to turn on. But if I have the big green bar on, and turn off all 3 little knobs, the system pressurizes and blows up.

I want to know what I can do? I want the automatic sprinklers to run, but if I turn green bar on and leave the 3 on the pressure will eventually blow, or at least I think it will, my parents said it does, but I have only seen it blow when all 3 sprinklers are off, and green is on. My lawn gets yellow because no one wants to turn it on and then off.

I can post a picture tomorrow, but I think I have an idea why it still makes crazy pressure noise even though all metal going up. I got the metal pipe coming up, I hooked a Metal spacer to white piping, and at top I got an angled piece white piping, not 90' but 45' degrees, well exactly right where it ends, my Dad built it so it splits off into the 3 sections immediately after the 45* angle. I believe if I put the 3 main heads further down like 1-2 feet, it wouldn't bottle neck and make crazy noise, and I could feel OK hooking up auto-sprinklers again.

Basic Layout: (!!! white piping)

{----------------------------------------------} <-This total distance is about 4 feet.

!!!-----(main head)--------{ |

METAL PIPE (45* pipe)!!!!!!!------(main head)-------{ | Front porch sidewalk

!!!------(main head)------{ |

(Green BAR)

^From 45 to juncture is seriously less than 6 inches

^The Metal pipe is coming from the main line from the street coming straight up from the ground. It is metal going all the way up even above ground. Then the metal coupler turns into white piping, and the 45* degree pipe is white piping. The !!!!!!!! is about 4 inchs long before it his a 3 way juncture.

My idea is to:
!!---------------------(main head)--------------
METAL PIPE (45* Pipe)!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!--------------------(main head)---------------

!!---------------------(main head)---------------

Basically put the juncture about 2 feet away
