I not sure if this is part of the A group where you're supplying the granite but black galaxy would look great. I would keep it the same on the island as well as the perimeter to make the kitchen balanced. The black will be a great contrast and the golden tones in it will have the right enough touch for the cabinet color and the impact the island needs.

Each fabricators listing of A level materials varies. You may be limited to the Santa Cecilia or Giallo lines to stay with your color tones.

I chose a different color for my island and have always been happy I did, breaks things up some. Absolute black would be nice for your main counter and then a cream would be pretty for your island (something within the A group).

You will never regret a lighter granite. It's a time trusted classic. My sister did something similar; black countertops and creamy White Island countertop. 2 years later...out with the black, replaced with the creamy white used on her island. Kitchen visually flows better. If you want black, I would use it as a color accent on an island or cabinet.
