Consult your local nursery for appropriate plants for your zone- look on here for ideas of colors/textures/layout of plants you like- I'm sure you will find lots of pictures.

I get it, you are just being sociable, neighborly - or a proud owner of a lakefront home.... and with the bucks to do it right. We would love to see more pictures, when you feel it is appropriate.

I can offer that you definitely don't want to screen any views toward the lake, and you may want to screen some views up toward the house and service areas, but we can't see any problems from where we sit.

I would suggest ground covers and low plants, preferably with winter fruit for the birds and critters.

Write to your local Native Plant Society or both (listed below) and tell them where you are, and on the lake, on a west? viewing slope, but not in the marsh or wetland. You might describe the trees you will be planting under, so they will get an idea of the soil acidity.
