Hydrangea and Azalea question

Has anyone else's hydrangeas and/or azaleas started budding yet? I planted 5 azalea shrubs last year and a hydrangea in late April but ended up having shoulder surgery in July so I wasn't near as attentive to my watering as I should have been due to mobility circumstances. (You are apparently a fall risk when you only have the use of one arm) Anyhow, my azaleas don't have any buds on them yet but the stems still feel green when they are bent and they don't snap like a dead limb would. My hydrangea, hasn't done anything yet either and unfortunately I'm not holding out much hope for it. It seems that my husband got a little lawn mower happy and ran over it. (And he says Im the one with the black thumb!) I did go back and prune off the hydrangea stems so they would have more clean cut so hopefully that helped? One can be hopeful so I'm here to ask.

my hydrangeas are coming back from the base as well. Azaleas were green all winter and never lose their leaves. Haven't noticed flower buds yet.

My hydrangeas have green coming up from the base. Everything above ground is dead i am pretty sure. I moved them last year..and even though they are in a much more protected spot...the stems don't look promising.

I haven't looked close at my azaleas, but i haven't noticed any obvious signs of flower buds.

I am in okc if that helps any.

Thank you for your comment! I did just move my hydrangea a couple of days ago to a better location than before and I don't remember seeing any green at the base, however the spot they were in didn't get much sun at all so hopefully the new location will help them warm up so they will come to life. I'll give them a couple weeks and if nothing happens I'll replace them. My grandmother had hydrangeas at her house for years and I somewhat know what to expect from the dying stems and pruning but couldnt remember when they start to bud out.

Oh no, I'm in the Grand Lake area and mine doesn't even have leaves. The grasshoppers kept themselves fat off my azaleas (and garden) last summer so the leaves were gone mid august (?) oh I hope they make it! :( I'm trying to stay hopeful since the stems are still flexible.

I have 3 hydrangeas that are all coming up from the base already. One of them was crispy all the way to the base. The other 2 actually look look like they with grow again from the stems which are green inside. I'm in OKC.
