Seems like my whole post didn't come through. Sorry about that. I want a more coastal glam/chic feel and trying to work around this big brown leather couch. what should i do with:

the wall between the kitchen cabinets and the couch?

The three windows behind the couch? thinking white fabric roman shades with a long rod over all three and a few drapes in between the windows?

The two windows near the door

The wall with the TV on it (i can replace the TV stand)

Hi Amanda, the pictures posted did not come in very clearly on my screen....hard to really see all the colors, etc. You've got a lot of light coming in this room, which is usually a good thing :-) .... But can cause some glare in pics. Would you mind posting a few more (non-panoramic) pictures....also of the other side(s) of the room?

Maybe start with a rug? All of these below are from Williams Sonoma and are for suggestions as well as examples of different styles of rugs that could work. (Again, it's hard for me to see the different colors/color tones in the room so a few of these may not coordinate with your furnishings, decor, etc.). You could also look at more neutral, natural-colored rugs like (sisals, textured/braided wools). Shop around on other sites and you'll probably find lots of similar rug choices in various colors and price ranges.

PS once you figure out a rug, this many times can help give you inspiration for ideas on window treatments, wall decor/art, etc.

The first pic Avery posted is perfect for you. I think you need to build up the art wall surrounding the tv. Good start but maybe some coastal art as well, black and white sailboats? Love your space and love the sheers on your windows. If you don't need privacy I don't think I would add anything more.

I agree with other posters about the sheer curtains and the adequate light they let into the room. You might consider shortening the curtains so that they come just to the window sill. As another thought, you might have the sheers just on the lower halves of the windows but still have them come just to the sills. Sheer valences and/or beige match-stick roller shades might help with the beach theme. I believe crown molding around the wall-ceiling juncture will give the room definition and class, and you might consider it throughout your home for a unified look.

The framed items on the floating shelves detract from the television, and the pictures would better serve you on a gallery wall elsewhere in the house. I believe the TV will look better placed inside an entertainment unit and centered on the wall. Once the TV is centered, you might install a matching ceiling fan and light so that they are equal distances from the center of the ceiling and not shining down in front of the TV. This placement might prevent the lights from being reflected on the TV screen, and I believe two lights will give a better balance to the room. I do like the occasional tables with the double arch design used in wicker furniture. Of course, this wicker look will add to the beach theme you want. You have really nice elements in this room.
