It depends on what you consider evergreen. Some types put up foliage in the fall and it lasts all winter into early summer, others sprout in the spring and then die back. They can have foliage during the winter (evergreen ?) but as far as I know all kinds die back for the summer .

In my zone 8 area, I had the lycoris leaves all winter long. They would usually die down in mid or late summer, and then a few months later, the flower scape shows up. That stays around just for a short time. Soon after, the leaves begin appearing again.

The leaves on mine are also drooped over.

I have grown Lycoris squamigera. It sends up leaves in spring with the other spring bulbs, but then the foliage dies back. In August the flowers shoot up without any leaves.

What kind of Lycoris? In what area/zone? My experience with L. radiata is the same as Purslanegarden's. Currently, the foliage is up, and flopped.

That's how I found mine too - the "lawn" was FULL of them, had been mowed for years. When drought turned the lawn brown, I wondered, "what are those green striped leaves?"
