It's getting late, but probably not too late. I like Early Glo but don't know if you can find them. I ordered mine several years ago but don't remember from which company.

I've transplanted strawberries at almost every time of year. Survival rate really drops during summer, though. This time of year, they'll survive ok, imo, but I'd put 3" - 4" of mulch on them. Keep them watered until they're established. Once established, they tend to spread. You'll be thinning them out once or even twice per year. You'll have lots of free strawberries, though!! We started w/ about 30 - 40 plants. We now have hundreds of them.

It is not too late to plant them, but realistically speaking, you probably will not get a very large harvest the first year. They should produce a larger harvest next year. My berries are blooming right now and they have been in the ground a couple of years. They're at the wetter end of the garden since more often than not we have drought. I hope this year's nearly constant rainfall won't be too hard on them.

Sequoia has produced well for me, and another one I really like is Camarosa, though I've never seen it in stores. You have to order it online and plant it in fall or winter perhaps through early spring because that is when the retailers ship the plants. Earliglow is available from many online sources, including Stark Bros, Park Seed and Johnny's Selected Seeds.
