16k is not that much for a rug that detailed! While not my taste, it is beautiful, and suits the room. Growing up, a friend's mom had a fortune in Oriental rugs, as well as a pack of dogs. Her mom said that the rugs never showed wear or stains, and she got one professionally cleaned every year, rotating the schedule. Frankly, I was afraid to walk on them! But they were beautiful.

I have a gorgeous Kerman Lauer in our living room
but thanks to the iPhone you're not seeing its real beauty and color! It is a "relief" type of work, meaning the different patterns are at a different height in the weave. Speaking of cost, this one came at $16,350.

Your rug may cost a lot, but personally it's not my taste. But really, look at the rest of the room..... Enough said.
