board activity

Seems to me that this message board as well as the C2C board are both much less active than the old garden web used to be. Or am I missing something?

    Bruce,
If you just count the number of posts/comments then you are considering one kind of activity. But then there is a secondary activity that goes unnoticed here because visits to the threads are not counted. But in some forums with different layout the visits are also counted.

There are other reasons/factors besides the chiliheads who migrated. Right now most members have already gotten their seeds, grow out list, and have germinated. So there isn't much to talk about. Probably it will be slow until plant out gets underway. I remember last year about this time somebody did dig into the statistics and it was pretty slow then also across the board. .

The other forums are about the same, in my estimation. I am equally active in "growing Tomatoes" forum. It is not significantly more active, considering that tomato is number one popular garden vegetable in America. Peppers are nowhere near tomatoes in popularity. .
So that is my take on the state of this forum. YMMV.

Went to our local nursery, not a big box garden center, and there's a huge variety of peppers. Ghosts, cayenne's of different types, Fatali's, many varieties of habs and others, sweet, and hot. Some of the Ghosts and habs were 2' tall in gallon containers. Owner said that it's the big thing now in commercial growers...

I could only wish that my local nurseries would carry a better variety. The one that does, last year was asking for $10-15 for a 1GAL potted plant. I did purchase only one of those and save d a lot of seed and now am growing a dozen of my own. :)

As for board activity, it is slow around hear, seems a lot of archived/old threads have been dug up to make the board appear "Busy".

I have been swamped between getting the garden area to presentable look, and work in general. Not to mention the change in schedule at work I had to endure, along with more overtime than even I would wish to work.

I think also along with it being Easter weekend many were busy with family events.

I am almost all the way planted out. I have some more work to do around the house before I can go outside to work on the garden. My agreement with the wife has been that I can not do anything in the garden until I finish up what needs to be done inside the house first. I am going to keep up my end of that due to the fact that she puts up with me, so I want to do everything I can to keep her happy.

Delayed spring here, heavy snowfall in March, too. Low average temps persisted due to ice in Lake Michigan.

I couldn't log on here for a while.

Said i sucked password wise and then I couldn't log on as Smokemaster_2007 because it was used already.

I never got any verifications they said they would send when I couldn't log on.

ENDS up they did OK my account BUT sent it to Google promotions (I NEVER read sales crap or check promotions out).

I don't like the adds I get from Houzz.

Fills my spam box real fast...lots of promotions too.

I don't visit here much since I think the Houzz stuff sucks.

Only thing I like is that now I get an E mail about new answers in posts I've checked out so I don't have to come here very often.

Ya ,I like C2C,BUT it's never been an either or thing with ANY site I visit.

What I find funny is C2C was created by people who got Disney'd by GW.

Once again they increased C2C activity for whatever reasons AFTER creating C2C in the first place.

As I said,I've never been a 1 site only type surfer.

To me,I'm computer illiterate, and will be forever.

People make the site, owners just make things harder at times for me.

I HATE BEING SPAMMED by a sites advertisers!

I don't own a cell phone and probably never will.

A LOT of the stuff I see as upgrades are for stuff that screws me up using a PC.

Most APPS. I see are useless to me.

    K.I.S.S is long gone.

I find C2C and other sites harder to navigate every time they upgrade.

I used to kill 14hr. work hours surfing at work 7 days a week.

Now i just check in to a few sites each night.

Not worth spending 14 hrs. figuring out how to use the latest upgrade,

I am unable to edit any words in my post without erasing every word after the error. This site SUCKSSSSSS!

I will not be back!! Where do I go!!!???

I've had no problem editing. Using a laptop you should be able to use the mouse to get to where you want to edit and edit, just like in word. On smart devices you should be able to touch where you want to edit and edit just as if you're editing a text message, etc.....

Change happens - good and not so good. However, to keep up in a world that's now seems to be driven by technology change is bound to happen sooner or later to most internet sites; be it a forum, shopping site, news site, etc... Change on the Internet reminds me of the old saying, 'Keeping up with the Jones'.
