Backsplash

I'm thinking mirror backsplash to make it feel roomier? Thoughts? Going with a lot of grey and ivory throughout the house.

I would put back painted glass. It will reflect light and you can order it in any color you like. It can be expensive but you don't have a lot to cover...it will make a huge difference. Post pictures when you're done :)

Nice kitchen Jessica. I hate cleaning mirrors, I'm too OCD about streaks. I'm afraid every little splatter would drive me bonkers, but if that doesn't bother you, go for it. I would suggest you remove the 4" granite splash first, though.

I don't know anyone who has used mirrors but have seen them in pictures. Like the idea, especially since you have a small area and space, but I would consider doing antique mirrored verses clear mirror. I don't think antique mirrors would be that difficult to keep clean.Would also remove the 4" granite splash for a more modern look. Hope this picture helps.

Lowes sells a mirror cleaning system by Ettore. It is incredible in terms of ease and results. If you do use mirrors, be certain to use mirrored outlet covers. I live in the desert. There is no shortage of mirrors here.

I have mirror backsplash on both sides of my cooktop. Surprisingly, they stay very clean so a quick swipe with a microfiber cloth is all that is needed. I do have a 4" quartzite splash bellow the mirror. I thinks it helps.

BTW, I have a small granite backsplash with a tumbled tile backsplash above it. (It came with the house). I never noticed it, and I can be very picky. I think you could have your mirrors installed right above the granite.

I would go with back painted glass before mirrors.

Mirrored backsplash is not going to echo the look that you already have going. Any reflection will add to visual space as well. Consider a high gloss subway or glass tile instead.
