Cocktail / Coffee Table Size

We have an L-shaped sectional sofa measuring 7' x 12'. I would like a glass table top to allow the fabulous rug below it to be seen. What size table would work well in this scenerio and do you have any suggestions? I saw a chrome base /tempered glass top octagon shaped about 48" diameter and was wondering if this would work or if there is something newer in design?

I would use a rectangular shape. Pier one has a nice table base in red, white, or black. Not sure if they will have the right size glass top, but the bases are sold separately and you can get glass cut or "borrow" it from a used craigslist table.

It seems you have plenty of room for your nice sofa, and you are not afraid of coilor. That is good. You need a round or octaginal coffe/cocktail table to follow the curved lines of your sofa. An oblong one will not work. Check out other pictures on Houzz.

additionally, if you have one, or need a sofa table, you can use one in your space, an oblong one would be can used behind the long portion of the sofa.
