Could you Tell me the dimension of the butcher block and the métal support?

What is the proportion between the 2 to insure stability?

When you edge glue a board and you laminate it with the grains going in a different direction it’s going to be strong enough to handle every day wear and tear despite the thin metal foundation underneath the block.
