Need help choosing a coffee table shape!

I am trying to put some final touches on our livingroom so it feels more finished. Among other things, the coffee table has me stumped.
I think I want some sort of glass and iron table to offset all the upholstered pieces in the room. However, I can't decide if I should go with square or rectangular.
I know I don't want oval, and I think I don't want round. Any input would be apprectiated so I can make a choice and move on!

Chairs are large, so don't do a dainty table! Maybe this:

I like the idea of 2 smaller tables right next to each other to form a rectangle, just for more interest. Plus you have flexibility in moving them around when entertaining. And I do like the idea of a metal frame, glass top so they take up less visual space.Much in the style of your round end table.

You are on the right track. I like PH Interiors idea of 2 square tables, but would make the metal aspect of it thin, for more transparency. I believe the fireplace is your focal point from this angle.

pcmom1 has got this one right I believe. I would use wrought iron and beveled glass similar to the picture below, and go rectangular. Search hard because I bought this one at one of my favorite little "haunts" for $175 - came home, wirebrushed it and clear lacquered it before setting it in our Family Room. Keep your eyes peeled and you'd be surprised what you can find!

Thanks for all the suggestions! Still searching, but thanks to all the input, I have narrowed it down to rectangular shape and something with a glass top. I really like the look of the one Hoebeke posted. Maybe I'll be lucky enough to stumble across a beauty like that one day!
