Need advice for my miniature roses

My Mom just gave me a miniature rose plant barely a week ago, and now the roses are drying up and dying (even the unopened blooms). The leaves, however, are yellowing. I've thoroughly checked for mites and pests, but find none. Can I save it? What should I do?

YOU HAVE TO REPOT THE PLANT!, the reason why the plant is dying is because the plant was mass produced to be used for a few days before dying in that tiny little pot. This is likely due to the immense root crowding and root rot that can occur rapidly when you keep it indoors and overwater it. Just a general tip for future references, always repot miniature rose immediately because the neglect in grocery stores would have resulted in some root rot which can spread rapidly in the indoors environment. During the winter, the water will not evaporate from the pot as fast, and usually due to over watering, will result in a too damp environment for the roots which encourages the rot (since it is cutting of the O2 the roots need). Repotting helps aerate the roots and free it from being root bound. Remember to cut off any dead roots, and shake most of the old soil off. You can grow miniature roses indoors as long as it is repotted in fresh soil, preferable in a terracotta pot, and there is sufficient humidity (can use a spray bottle), sunlight (6= hours), and a clean environment (to decrease the risk of pest). Like what the others said, they will do better outside. Forgot to mention, the rose is in shock when you get it since it has suddenly been moved to changing environments away from its ideal greenhouse environment which also contributes to the blooms dying. Also when repotting, there may be more then one plant so try to separate them to encourage less competition.

i think it needs sun light. try putting it outside where it can get atleast 6 hrs of sunlight every day. Dont forget to Water but not too much.

Agreed, outside and watch the watering. Unfortunately yellowing leaves is a sign of both too much AND too little water. Take that paper off of the pot. Water needs to be able to flow freely out and away from the pot. That paper or any kind of tray will hold water in the roots and rot them. Once it recovers and starts to grow again I would suggest re-potting it into a little bigger pot and then gradually move it up as the plant grows up. Take off anything that is dry, yellow or shriveled. I would not suggest any fertilizer until you see it starting to grow again and then only start out at half strength.

I live on the East Coast in New Jersey. Southern part. Can I plant my mini roses out side in sun light by walkway? Does it like to be in with lilies?

Roses love full sun and that sounds like a great spot for them. I have lilies planted with some of my roses and they do quite well together. Planting them in the ground is always best for them. Just add extra mulch over them in the fall to protect them for the winter.

In NJ, we usually don't recommend covering roses in the winter because the material stays too wet. Maybe in the NE part of the state where it is closer to zone 5. Your choice.

Yes, they will be fine with the lilies.

Peaches, in zone 7 you should plant them right away. They should have plenty of time to settle in before your winter comes on.
