I didn't realize that concrete could have the shine and color of Caesarstone -- does anyone know how they compare in price? Is concrete much more difficult to install?

Thanks. What about price compared to Caesarstone? And someone mentioned staining..?

We had a custom concrete kitchen table made to seat 10. It does tend to stain (we even have some drink rings), needs to be waxed and buffed every once in awhile and gets grimy and sticky around the edges of the table (we have 4 kids 8 and under) despite my constant cleaning with hot, soapy water. We had planned on doing our outer countertops in granite and doing the island in concrete like our table, but my experience with the kitchen table has caused me to change my mind. Maybe a countertop wouldn't be as bad?

Thanks. We went with Caesarstone and maintenance is easy. Neighbors with little kids say the same, I am please and recommend it.

This is for Rebekah: can you recommend a fabricator that does the concrete countertops in Chicago? I live in a Western Suburb and can't seem to find anyone that can do it. Thank you for your constant good advice!

what color of caesar stone did you go with debleavy? I am building a home now and cannot figure out what caesar stone I want.

I went with Buttermilk. I wanted something light, since my kitchen can be dark, but thought the whites were too harsh with my cabinets, wood with a yellowish cast.
    Good luck!
