I am in Zone 5 (Central Ohio) and have a Moss, Hosta, and Fern garden that I love. This time of year, however, I do not love the pests.

I know I am not alone with the issues of tiny weeds, and destructive robins & squirrels. How do you fellow moss-lovers deal?

I tried a solar-powered owl who is supposed to keep the birds away. Nope.

I tried netting, but I am a bit 'gravitationally challenged' and ended up catching myself more than protecting the moss. (Good thing I had a soft landing zone). It also looked awful.

As for the weeds, I am picking by hand with tweezers every day. HELP!
