hmm... Would being in a 3 gal pot make a difference? It looks like a florist rose from the single bloom / stem. What else could it be?

I don't think potting would make a difference and mine was potted. I think yours is more likely one of many red hybrid teas. More pictures of all the stages and leaves and whole plant would help in IDing it.

I used to have a 'Mr. Lincoln' that looked similar (and didn't have much fragrance), but I'm not expert!
