You could and I would. The vines will climb all over it and it will look pretty all summer. Just be sure it is sturdy and not in a place, say...beside a path....where it could fall on someone. Even a tree that seems sound can come down unexpectedly in strong wind.

That is so true. We had a peach that broke off last year that we thought was stout enough to stand alone . Now all of our fruit trees have tposts with large cages around them. we get a lot of high straight line winds through the orchard area.

now to decide which one to grow.... eeny meeny miny mo
