Growing in a container is very different from inground growing and that includes watering, so disregard any sources you find that are referring to standard gardening practices and not specifically container growing.

You want to water any container until the water drains freely from the drain hole(s) in the bottom of the pot. This the same for drip irrigation is it is for hand watering. Exactly how long and how frequently is impossible to say, as it depends entirely on the size of the container, the potting medium and the weather.

You will just need to run a few tests to determine proper timing. And be prepared to adjust as needed as weather and the growth of the plants (later in season = more root development = greater water needs) demands.
