My orange trees smell the strongest and best, imo. Of course my oranges are the largest trees I have, but they still seem the stronger than the lemons, etc. I don't know about grapefruit, but my mandarins have a sweet scent but it doesn't seem to carry as far as the oranges.

I agree, I can smell my backyard orange tree from the front yard. The lemon, lime, and tangelo smell wonderful too, but the scent isn't as...thick?...and doesn't carry as far as the orange.

My Meyer lemons are flowering profusely and the are absolutely ODORLESS.

Try a Chinotto (Sour Orange) Best smell of them all..

It's a toss up for me between the Oro blanco, the cocktail grapefruit and the rio red grapefruit, they are all extremely pungent and "thick" smelling flowers as Patty described it so well above.

The most fragrant of all citrus blossoms is the Bouquet de Fleurs sour orange. It is also the most beautiful flower of all citrus flowers. Behind that would be grapefruits and pummelos. They all smell wonderful, though :-) I agree, Evan, my Cocktail is just so richly fragrant. I can always pick it out, even when I'm standing many feet away. It has a particular smell that is just beyond all the others, besides the Bouquet de Fleurs.

I've heard very good things about the Chinotto! It also makes an excellent bitters/syrup/soda.

For me it is the Moro Blood Orange. I have other citrus but they don't even come close to the fragrance. I have a bad sniffer but when it's in bloom I definitely know it.

I can only go by what I have and for me it is my Lisbon Lemon- I can smell its scent over all the other citrus I have (Page Mandarin, Meyer Lemon, Calamondin, Mexican Lime, Arctic Frost Satsuma, Hamilton Navel, and a Cara Cara Navel) it has a heavy pleasing scent.
