Are the top two pics different cultivars?

I'm going to order some from edible landscape later this month. Mine are all wild variety

Did you raise yours from seed or bare root or what?

how old are they and how many years did it take to fruit?

I would really be interested in tasting a paw paw but I've never seen one for sale anywhere. Maybe it's just me but I think they look terrible, mushy, sort of like whipped yogurt. I'm pretty weird about textures and this one just doesn't look right to me. lol

What do they taste like?

The first plate is Shenandoah- light creamy flesh, very good pineapple, banana flavor, and sweet. The second plate is Jerry Lehman VE-21, very productive, very good tropical taste similiar to Shenandoah in flavor, and sweet. The two 5 1/2 feet tall are Susquehanna and Shenandoah. The Large 8 years old Mango is about 11 feet tall ( the faster growing of all paw paws), very good tasting fruit and as good as Shenandoah. The photo with a cluster of three fruits is Shenandoah, and the last photo with a cluster of 5 fruits is Jerry Lehman VE-21. All these are grafted varieties. They usually start to flower around 4 years of age and around five feet tall. Hand pollinate with a small painter brush from a different variety for more fruits set.

Would really like to grow these, but limited in space and dont think i would be successful... I'm about 3 hrs north of you, Tony. From my understanding you're about as far north that these will grow?

Treebird lives somewhere in Iowa about 2 or 3 hrs from Omaha and he had a young paw paw orchard. You can grow a Mango and Shenandoah five feet from the south side of your house for micro climate (heat giving off from the wall of the house) and no North wind.
