I am going to repaint and refurnish my husband's office. I have an old tanker desk that I am going to use... see photo below. It is painted black with chrome feet and drawer pulls. I plan on putting it in the bay window of the room (see floor plan), with a desk chair backing up to the windows so the desk is facing the room. I plan on getting him an Ekornes desk chair. The floor is a light tone maple and woodwork is cherry, but a darker tone... not too red. Now I need to finish the rest.... on a budget! No built-ins, please. I guess I'm leaning toward an industrial look but don't want it super industrial.... I want it to blend in with the rest of the house so will want to use some wood tones. I'd like to use the chair in the photo... actually that's a must.... my husband loves that chair! It's black checked. The bookcase next to it can be used in the office or moved to another room. My husband needs something with file cabinets. I've been on many websites: West Elm, Modern By Design, Ballard Designs, but I just can't decide where to go with this! Any suggestions? Also, a great paint color, please!
