Living Room Layout?!

last modified: 11 years ago

We've got a design dilemma. I have sold my sofas and coffee
table, and I am looking for a fresh perspective for a layout in my living room.

Here are the tricky parts of this room:

-My fireplace pops out of the wall by about 3 feet, and the
walls on both sides of it are not equal in length (although they appear that
way, the difference is actually about 1 foot, which is noticeable when placing
furniture). The fireplace slightly favors the left.
-The fireplace is too close to the kitchen to mount a TV
above and view without causing neck discomfort.
-I'd like to keep the fireplace as a focal point, because I
am going to eventually give it a face lift.
-I would prefer to not place another sofa against my kitchen
counters (like it currently is), but am open to place a smaller piece like an
arm chair there.
-I would like to create a more intimate area around the TV
(wherever it ends up), and less spread out. My original idea incorporated this
and a seating area nearby, but the furniture I planned to buy ended being WAY
too large, because I didn’t scale the room correctly.

What ideas do you have? I am open to ANYTHING!

Thanks in advance!

LAYOUT:

^ Can't do. Sectional comes too far back (1ft from windows and 1 ft from dining table)
