Have you considered enlarging the two side windows up to the same height as the window in the middle? This would give you more choices for drapery.

Bette, replacing the windows with larger ones is more money than I want to spend as I have 10,000 sq ft of house to decorate (!!). Eeek! Lin, I like your suggestion taking all the draperies to ceiling height. Then perhaps if I removed the light fixtures over the two side windows and put something neat on the walls about the two shorter windows (framed by the draperies). I'm thinking arched iron wall hangings perhaps...

I found this pic also. Would curved rods work to round off the square corners? Also, would it work with the wide windows (in my case) being on the side?

Lin, you make a good point about the heights of the panels in the pic that you posted.

What is in style now are simple panels as stated by someone above. What a view. That is why the windows are there!! I would use a beautiful simple rod and try a bohemian pleat on the panels. It is different. Kind of a reverse double pinch pleat. You can get from the rod from a designer or even just check Calico Corners to see what they sell. I used plain iron rods that bent back 45 degrees to the wall on my 1856 traditional living room with silk panels. Please treat the middle window as one long window or it will look choppy.

Use stationary panels mounted ceiling height on pegs that only go 2" into the windows. Best idea is to hire a window treatment designer. Google drapery workrooms in your area!
