We are building a screened porch, 16 feet deep by 18 feet wide. We are going to put a linear gas fireplace in a stone wall. The dilemma we have is that the most natural placement of the fireplace is along the back wall (opposite the house/view in front of you while walking onto porch) but that will block the view to the backyard. We live on near an acre with lots of trees, a play set and 2 young kids, so I would like to preserve the view.

To the right, will be door going out onto the deck. To the left wall, is the other possible location for the fireplace, but the layout of the room won't flow as well. We just ordered a large couch swing (almost 7 by 4 feet) which also hampers our layout.

Looking for suggestions/objective opinions.
