I suppose many things can be accomplished with the wrong tool but ... why?

I see you are definitely a saw man Cap. What would be the right tool?

Oh I do love to cut things up and stuff them through my chipper! lol!!! I noticed that the Bosch was not making smooth, easy cuts. For smaller stuff I use my Felco pruners and for larger I would reach for one of my small electric or gas chain saws. Anything a little out of reach? No worries, I have gas and electric pole saws too. No bouncing, vibrating, or bucking. Just sawdust flying and a nice clean cut.

I am forever in search of quality pruners. I will look at Felco. Mine are Costco and being US are so much better than the chinese stuff we get in UK. The vibrating mess at the end was a thick stem of ivy which was like a hardwood when I got into it. Also I had a normal wood saw attachment on. When I put the jagged tooth garden saw back on I got much better results. Chainsaws scare the hell out of me as i know how short my attention span is and how much blood I left up my driveway after a small hedge trimmer incident.

A chainsaw on a pole? That is very very tempting. Sort of a new dimension. I might risk everything to be able to cut the tops off trees. Might be typing this from hospital or prison next time but beginning to make plans.

There is a learning curve for everything so just go slow and safe as you learn new tools. I like Fiskars garden tools too. Look at their loppers for cutting the smaller diameter branches that are just a bit too much for the Felco hand pruners. They make a really nice manual pole saw that has a lopper blade and a saw blade. They work well. I used to use something like that but I prefer the pole chainsaw because I can get through the work faster.
