Thanks! Also, my previous cabinets had 1 inch knobs with a 6.5 inch backplate. What size handle pulls or knobs would be recommended? What would be recommended: both, only pulls or only knobs?

I concur with Interiors International, Inc.'s finish recommendation. I prefer pulls over knobs because of ergonomics. The size will depend on the size of the drawer front, if the drawer front is raised or recessed and if the hardware you had chosen has a 'family' of sizes.

Thank you - We actually prefer pulls now that we think about it. I went and measured my drawers, and I didn't realize they were different sizes. All the knobs and backplates are the same size. Drawers are 14.5", 17.5", 19", 29.5". The drawer fronts are flat, not raised, but the doors for the cabinets have a frame around them with a beaded edge.
Would the same size pull bring uniformity? Since we are pretty much replacing the cabinets with new ones of pretty much the same size and configuration, would a pull around 6.5 imches or so be the recommenedation?

I would recommend a min of 4" with two pulls for the 29" drawers. 6" would be nice. Think in thirds. If the style you choose has more than one width, select a size that is roughly 1/3 the width of the drawer face. For doors select the same size as you apply to the smallest drawer.
