It looks wonderful! I'm saving up to put a cherry tree in my front yard. :) Hopefully, Rainer or some other sweet cherry tree. What type of cherry tree do you have? I heard our climate isn't the best for cherry trees but what has been your experience with them?

Sweetgardener - I recommend either the Ranier or the Bing. I don't recomment the Stella which is self polinating, because the cherry is too small. You will need two varieties to polinate each other. Here is a photo of my Stella. On another note, I have been successful this year in copying Thomas Jefferson in growing artichokes in Northern VA. Today I have 6 artichokes on 5 plants.

I think I've seen the Rainer at Southern States, I'll double check (idk about Bing). Thanks for the help with the cherry trees. Now I just have to wait two more weeks to get them.

Here is an update of a part of my garden. As you may have seen in previous posts, I was trying to replicate Thomas Jefferson by growing artichokes in Northern Virginia. I tried in 2013 with no success (no artichokes). n This year I have succeeded. I have already harvested 3 artichokes and here is a picture of about 11 more in my raised garden. Also I have attached a puicture of my garlic, ready for harvest and my hardy kiwis. the kiwis are loaded with fruit.
