You might be surprised to find that the roots are very small. I just looked at some of mine and most have roots under an inch. I would go ahead and repot being careful of the new roots. There is no point to wait another year as spending more time in peat moss is more detrimental.

Thanks Jane, I will repot! I was just thinking because sometimes cattleyas will have quite long roots once the shoot gets a few inches.

Use your judgement. I missed that your Dend is a nobile. Carefully pull it out and see how the roots look. If need be, you could pull away some of the moss and add some small bark. You'll figure it out!
