I love color, especially red. I have always tried t have one single color in each room, even a touch of it. I have red in the kitchen, a red sofa and little accents of red in the other rooms. I am still working on this. I recently moved but this was great in my other home. I personally like the earth tones and red as accents. You could use spots of teal in each room. Throw pillows, accent rug or a hand towel. It just pulls it all together I think. Sounds beautiful. Again do what you like.

Each room doesn't have to match nor the outside - but it's nice to have complimentary colors when rooms open up to each other. Here's an article on paint colors that may help.
