what about silestone? its a similar product but different manufacturer. also consider marble or limestone. the hottest countertop material is from recycled glass....very hot

Ceasarstone is one of many Quartz based engineered stone products on the market today. Quartz is one of the most exciting counter top materials to be introduced, because it is non-porous, more scratch resistant, and generally more durable than natural stones, yet it offers a similar look. It works especially well when you want a quietly uniform counter that will let other elements be the star of the show. One manufacturer, Silestone, also claims antimicrobial protection built in to their product. Just remember that Quartz tops, like all natural stones, should not be subjected to hot pots directly from the cook surface. Quartz products are my "go-to" choice now when educating my clients about their counter surface choices.

I had CaesarStone installed in our Kitchen this past August. I am totally happy with my decision and haven't had any issues. One of our pieces has a 3 sided 2 1/2" mitered edge, it looks amazing! I was also told that it is more scratch resistant and durable than granite. I had granite in my previous house and I find the quartz less porous. Have fun with your project!
