I live in Westminster and had no idea that the high school had an annual plant sale. Guess I need to get out more! I missed the first sale, but going to it might be just the thing to do on this coming - no doubt cold and rainy - Saturday. Thank you for the heads up, popmama!

Isn't it great?! They've had a very long history of horticulture even at the older school. But the newer building has an amazing greenhouse. I was informed that the school won it as part of some Home/Garden show contest.

I wish I could go to that program myself. Sadly, I'm not in high school and neither of my kids is remotely interested. But I still support the sale!

oakiris asked a good question about payment options. The sale is cash only. It's possible they take checks, I've never tried. But definitely no credit. I'd just bring cash to be on the safe side.

Oakiris, I hope you enjoyed the sale today. By the way, I noted they take cash, check and they also accept credit although I saw them having a bit of trouble with that system. If anyone is still thinking of going, they are open until 3:00. They had a huge number of gallon perennials for only $1! I bought about five different agastache, penstemon, fuhrman's sage and red birds in a tree. FOR ONE DOLLAR!

Believe it or not, even in the total downpour, the other plant sale on west 72nd was also happening . I got a few lovely plants there, including another hypertufa planter for $10. They were giving away free tomato plants for anyone who braved the weather.

I made it to the plant sale at the HS, though not to the one by the bank. The prices were a bit higher when I went but still very reasonable. I bought 4 gallon plants for $17 (total) - some grasses, a Heuchera and an Agastache. I didn't see the penstemons or I would have gotten one or two of those as well. Wish I had made it to the other sale, but by the time I was done with the first one I was pretty soaked (walked all the way around the school in the rain, no umbrella of course, trying to locate the sale, lol) so I gave it up for the day.

The rain finally quit that afternoon and I spent the rest of the day - until it started raining again - and Sunday as well pumping water out of my backyard. I only have a small pump but I am very thankful for it. Still have a lake back there and I have not dared to check to see how much water I have under the house in the crawl space. Nice to see the sun again today and I hope it doesn't rain again for a couple of weeks, maybe by then things will have dried out.
