    Hello everyone.

I would be interested in a spring swap. Early May would be great!

If anyone would like to return to last year’s site at Green Mtn. Presbyterian on Alameda, May 9th is available at 12noon for the afternoon.

  • last month

That would work for me. Where is everyone this year?

I am interested and pretty flexible. I'm light on plants this year, though.

We're interested. I have echinacea volunteers I can dig up. I have not started any cuttings this year except for a few houseplants. I could yet start hops or currants. Hops are easy, Currants should be okay. I have rosemary I can bring as the bush has thrived over "this winter that wasn't". Rosemary takes too long to root so it would be as herb for cooking. I'll have a few excess vegetable seedlings.

Hooray, the spring swap thread! :)

I'm looking forward to the swap, though I have zero plants this year... been rather busy!

I've got a few new friends to bring this year as well.

I would love an echinacea! I finally had one overwinter. It needs friends.

I potted up 3 echinacea. They should be stable by the time of the swap.

Are we good with May 9th?

I‘m planning on having the swap on May 9th. Potluck. I’ll have beverages, plates, etc., name tags, numbers for choosing plants or any other goodies you’d like to share.

gjcore- if you have an extra currant plant, I would love one. One got blight(?) last year and had to be removed. TY.

Oh no, not May 9th!! It's the ONE day I have something else... D:

If we're all settled on May 9th, though, I'll cancel my other thing and come. I wouldn't miss it. :)

We can't do this without Oladon

  • last month

    I can't do May 16.

tomatoz1. I mad 2 currant softwood cuttings about a week ago. They're looking good so far but they might need to be sheltered beyond May 9. Right now they're in a dome outside and get some filtered sunlight in the afternoon which is a new way for me to make cuttings.

Nice, thank you. Can I find anything for you?

I’ll be bringing tomato plants and some flowers. The tomatoes are super slow this year and are not hardened yet.

Would 5/23 be too long to wait? Or are we pretty set on the 9th?

  • last month

5/23 might be a good date. If you all choose this date, a different host/place will be needed.

  • last month

The 9th works best for me. I have invited a few other people that are not on the chat so I need to let them know the date for sure soon please.

    9th works for us.

    We have:

1 Immortality Iris - This is a twice bloomer.

2 Purple Broom babies - this is a slow controlled spreader. Attracts bumblebees in the spring.

    Several flats of strawberries

1 purple salvia - This is an uncontrolled spreader.

Several bags of just dug up Shasta Daisies so should be put in the ground right away.

1 pot yarrow - undetermined color, most likely white or pink

misc. tulip bulbs - some of which should be red and yellow (shown below), one of which is undetermined color and comes from another area of the yard. None of these tulips bloomed this year. We dug up all of the tulips last year but these sent out greens this year so I'm assuming they were left over babies of these guys.

Can dig up a chive if anyone wants one.

    Would like:

    Jack Frost Brunnera

    Any tickseed flowers

    Tall garden phlox

Any flowering perennial that are on non-toxic to dogs list.

May 9 sounds OK with most people, so I’ll keep it on my calendar. The weather will be a bit cooler than last year’s swap.

    Info:

    12900 W. Alameda Pkwy.

    Lakewood 80228

Entrance is off Mississippi - across from Walgreens

Park closer to the Walgreens side as we will be swapping on the covered patio.

    Time: 12:00 noon

    Bring:

    Potluck to share

    Veggie plants

    Flower plants

    Any seeds to share

Anything else to share (we’re still using the small shovel from MMMM. That was a true treasure.)

Tomatoz1, Thanks for the reminder. We will also be bringing some large indoor/decorative pots. Mostly black or darker colors.
