Seeding/patching dilemma

last modified: 11 years ago

I prepped my lawn for patching/leveling/seeding, but not being expert, made an oversight of laying Jonathan Green Black Beauty Ultra seed that had been infiltrated by mice over winter. I s. fertilized and then layed peat moss on top. I finished that early this evening, and that's where it stands right now. I didn't realize that a large unknown portion of seed in there could have been husk with no seed having been eaten by mice, I thought I was looking at seed, so I laid it, figuring the droppings couldn't do too much harm all in all. Now, I don't know if I should immediately add more of same seed, maybe double up or 33% increase and mix in? There were a fair amount of droppings, but Faaaaaaar more seed and seedless husk. An inspection does confirm both seed w/ husk and eaten seeds, just husk, but it can be kinda hard to determine larger ratios as this seed seems small and hard to analyze... Any experienced advice to optimize this situation, as all other prep was done well, thanks.
