I really love my Silgranit Super Single, I will never have a divided sink again! I ordered mine from Amazon and had it in 2 days with Prime. I did have to return the first sink because it was broken, but they sent a replacement out the same day and the second one was perfect!

I've always hated the divided sink - every remodel I've put in a large single basin - just makes more sense with the way I work in the kitchen. I would pay $485 given that you will use that sink every day, probably multiple times a day.

You can compare the cost of the sink your installer has versus buying one on line and paying for overnight or two day delivery. Also when you're looking on line, consider how close you are to their warehouse and whether or not they have the particular sink you want in a warehouse close to you - order on the phone so you can ask the details about delivery.

Splurge on the sink. Believe me, it's worth it. You will be using it every single day and so it should please you in every way possible.

I was going to go with a free SS sink from my granite guy, but chose to look beyond what he offered. There's a whole big world of sinks out there.

Really think about what you want it to look and function like, and pay for it.

You won't regret it.

btw, I got the Kohler Cape Dory in Sea Salt, and LOVE it. So, so happy we splurged there.

Agree with all the above! It will be money well spent. And it might be very difficult to change out later without having to have your counter re-cut. I think it will cost you more if you wait to make the change.

Right funkycamper. You do not want to find out you wished you'd got the sink you really wanted, instead of the sink you settle for.

I took choosing a sink way to lightly when we redid our kitchen. Thank God I realized that I needed to look at that choice very critically before it was too late.

I spent way more time researching sinks than I'd ever thought I would. I did an exhaustive search and traveled to many places just so I could see them in person.

Worth it. Totally.

I wish I would have thought more about the sink before starting all this. I think I was so focused on the granite I just didn't consider it enough!

If your granite isn't cut yet, you can change your mind.

Now, you need to think about single vs. double and what materials and colors you like.

I hated my divided sink too, and I'm so happy to have a single bowl sink! I have the silgranit précis super single and it's wonderful. I ordered it from Amazon and it came very quickly. I highly recommend it. It's less than $400 on Amazon.

Some websites have very quick delivery for no extra charge. Today is Monday - when you said "next week", do you mean, say, next Wednesday, 10 days from now? That could be enough time to receive your sink from a website. My friend got her Silgranit Super Single in 2 days from quality bath, and did not pay extra. Delivery time will vary though depending on availability of what's in stock, and how that website works. I would try calling a couple on the phone, and seeing if you can get the sink you want delivered quickly.

When choosing your sink, don't forget to consider the width of your sink cabinet base to ensure it will fit or, if modifications would be needed to make it fit, make sure your installer knows how to do those modifications. You don't want to go through all this and get a sink that can't fit in your base.

The counters are going to be installed next Tuesday. They want the sink by this Friday. Looks like the ones on Amazon have an additional 1 to 2 day lead time, which means I could have one just in time... though I am a little wary to order one at this point, since if it comes cracked I wouldn't have time to return it and get another. This is a tough call.

Call an audible-delay of game. Believe it or not, this is very important.

I ordered my Kohler sink through Home Depot. Better price, quick delivery and I could take it back if it was damaged.

What's interesting about the Kraus sink is that it appears to have a small accessory ledge for cutting boards/colanders/other accessories. I don't think I've seen any other granite sinks with that.

dddsg, I don't think so. Are you looking at the picture of the sink undermounted in black granite?

I am. Admittedly, it seems extremely small and maybe it wouldn't be big enough to actually support any accessories. I thought that one of the reviewers had done this, but it looks like they used a positive reveal for the cutting board.
