The countertop you selected is going to blend very nicely with the cabinets and the walls, I think that having some contrast with a dark hardwood flooring would be a good idea.

Each of the materials you have chosen look great. Altogether these materials have a very similar coloring. I would try to add a bit of variation in the color of the flooring. Perhaps a tile with cooler tones, which would also alleviate any worries of the laminate flooring getting wet and warping.

Yes, the walnut would look nice and add to the contrast.

If you have cold winters, this is your chance for putting radiant heat under your floor.

One flooring material that I don't think people think about enough is cork. Many colors, styles, and it is quiet, soft and warm to the feet!

I like the idea of dark floors with your cabinets. I chose a vinyl plank that "looks like wood" for my kitchen, rather than laminate, because vinyl won't get damaged by moisture. You may want to consider it.

Plus, I've heard it isn't great for muffling noise.

I have laminate throughout my cottage (in bathrooms and kitchen) and no problems at all. It's held up very well in spite of wet kids and dogs.
