My advice would be hire a designer or color consultant for a few hours and work this through hands-on. These fine-tuned coordinations make or break the end result and it's too difficult to call very specific surfaces in photos. Congrats on the new home and good luck! :)

Your Bordeaux River Granite looks quite gold in this pic but when I browse that granite, it looks far less gold. After looking at several pics of the granite, I'd go with cinder for the sink (truffle would be my second choice for that granite) and nickel or pewter for the cabinet hardware. I also like bronze cabinet hardware but think nickel or pewter would be prettier with your dark cabinets. I like neutral paint colors and if your counter is a bit goldish, I wouldn't pick a paint that is too gray. We recently painted our main floor with SW accessible beige and I think it's a great neutral. By the way, we have a Blanco Silgranit sink and it's a great sink, in case this is your first experience with one.

Color Zen - would love too; but so far over budget trying this means first.

Ann - thanks for the input! It was really hard getting a true color pic on that granite; but I agree it is probably more gold in the picture than in reality. This is my first experience with Blanco - so good to hear you like it!

I wanted a Blanco sink as well, but there wasn't one I felt coordinated with my granite. I thought adding a single element (sink color) wouldn't achieve my kitchen vision, so I helped my budget out & went with stainless.

I agree with Color Zen. You are spending a considerable amount on your fixed finishes. It would be a shame to take the online advice of someone who can't see the actual finishes together. You might try your local tile store if you do not have a budget for an Interior Designer, as some have on staff designers, they would at least be able to help you with your backsplash. (Depending on where you live, it could cost as little as a few hundred dollars to hire a designer to consult on your finishes). You are looking to choose fixed elements that are costly to replace if the wrong color is chosen. I say the time for online advice is when you are selecting paint and fabrics which are much easier to change out than a sink/backsplash. Good luck! Enjoy your new home!

Make sure to take all of your finishes with you. The granite yard should have given you a small sample to take with you. It will be nearly impossible without one to select the right backsplash. You might call the store ahead to see if they have a sample of your granite. If you are able to get actual sink samples (most plumbing supply houses have a chip set you can borrow) take that with you as well. Call ahead to your tile store to see if they have on staff designers. If so, make an appointment. They are usually booked up. Good luck!

Do you have a piece of the actual granite you are getting? What we found out when we picked ours was that the front piece often looked so different than the pieces behind it. We shopped in the big warehouses. We never got a piece of the actual one, but instead tool several pictures. We also waited until it was at the fabricators place and then ordered the sink.

Much better picture of your granite! I think my vote stays the same. I actually think either cinder or truffle would work. Not crazy about the metallic gray with the granite. The beauty of a natural stone is the presence of several colors, often making a couple choices pretty good. I've seen both cinder and truffle in person and they're both nice. I'd be making my own choices too, so I get not hiring someone.

Drawer Essentials: I do have a sample of the granite, but unfortunately it is a piece that doesn't show any of the grays or browns in it; so I am working with granite company to get a better sample if possible.

Love the skate appl. And cinder sunk. Don't like the very dark cabs and floors. I would go the gray on Cabs. With a reclaimed wood look in gray tones on floors wide plants. Backsplash. Take color from granite or marble the Carrera look is great and easy to work with. The colors you picked above are already dated. Very dark cabs and floors are dated. Use brush nickel long pulls. All finishes should match. Incl lighting like pendants.

What did you end up going with? Our remodel starts in a few weeks and we have slate appliances but I am only just now shopping for a sink. I really like the Blanco ones, just can't decide on the color and no local stores seem to have them for viewing.

What finish did you use on your faucet?

Miss Cindy, I remember having a hard time finding the blanco color samples too. I finally found them at a kitchen design center but I ordered my blanco sink online for the best price, so it was a little awkward to go in to view the colors but not buy from them.

Lovely kitchen -- love the uplights on top of the upper cabinets (can you tell us what you used?) Is that a Moen sensor faucet?

It is a Kohler Cruette faucet. The lights are LED tapes, but I don't know the brand.

Thanks! I've seen those LED tapes (Kichler I think) -- but didn't know they had a bluish color.

I am also doing a kitchen remodel. Both metallic grey or cinder would match my snowflakes granite I am having installed. I am also getting the GE Slate appliances. Did you find the cinder matched them more closely? I have white cabinets, and can't seem to figure out between cinder and metallic grey. Your kitchen looks terrific.
