Twilight Zone Rose

It's raining today but this just looked too pretty not to share. This is a brand new planted rose, so quite surprised it's already blooming. It's quite a bit lighter than other pictures I've seen of this rose, but I do like it. It's my only purple rose.

What a lovely purple (same color as my Big Purple). I love strong, vivid colors!! Awesome!

I have 2 bushes and I love them! Mine are really more dark wine almost purple, but my camera always makes them look more maroon. They smell so good too! This is a winner for me. I love your picture with the raindrops. Seems like we have had nothing but rain.

Here's an updated picture of the blooms, which become a LOT darker as they age. I'm pretty impressed by this rose. I've never had one with so many blooms their first season in the ground (there are literally two dozen blooms and buds on a relatively small plant), and this particular one is grown in a wooden, half whiskey barrel in only partial sunlight.
