nwendl: You can get this look on reclaimed wood (our Northwest Blend salvaged wood would be a good candidate for the wood because it is fairly smooth on the surface for easier finish than a rougher wood, and it has soft weathered brown, tan & gray colors) by diluting white acrylic paint with water so it is just a translucent white. For a zero VOC option try Rubio Monocoat in a mix of white & pure colors to the right level of white you want. Good luck!
