I would highly recommend having a designer recolor/restyle your photo. Takes all the fear out of this huge decision. You can see in advance what you like best. My computer screen is currently full of client's facades :) Works amazingly well. Good luck!

For a change of pace, why not go with the color you like the best, then decide what color to paint the brick? BTW, where is the brick?

@sooz001 - It's difficult to tell from the photo, but the entire main front of the house is white brick. Everything on the facade except for the area by the garage! And the sides/back of the house are siding.

What is the new roof color? Can we see a better photo of it?

I tried to mock it up in paint. The siding is a darker/tanner gray than I intended. And I can't figure out how to change the brick. assuming i also painted the brick Does it look better than all white?

I wouldn't do a shingle (shake?) for the addition. I would do clapboard because shingles will look too busy with the pattern of the brick. I would go all white and remove the shutters you have now...they do not fit properly and are vinyl...

How about a light gray?

just wanted to thank everyone for sharing your opinions and update you on the decision - we are going with the sterling gray siding from certainteed cedar impressions and will paint the brick to match. I won't have after pictures for a few weeks but will post them once I do. thanks all!!

Your house is beautiful and will be more so with your addition. IMO, painted brick cheapens the look of the elegance. I would side the entire house or have a mason stucco over the brick, which it looks like in your first Inspiration photo. The cement can be tinted to match your siding color.

I have some "during" pictures, still working on the brick color (BM metro gray is looking very close, don't have pictures of that here though). super happy with the sterling gray it looks very fresh and current.

Hi there, Are you still happy with the Sterling Gray Cedar Impressions? I'm redoing a beach house in RI that needs to have the cedar shingles redone and I'm seriously leaning toward the Sterling Gray but have some reservations as to how authentic it looks. I felt like the darker shade had a better profile between each shingle that made it harder to distinguish that it was Cedar Impressions.

We are also considering sterling gray and would love some updates/finished pictures! Thanks

We are adding ad addition to our old brick lake house . It's the older masonry brick . Siding is cedar shake in the wicker color . Do I paint brick the same color ?
