A relative near Glenside swears by Primex. Apparently a large selection with very knowledgeable staff. Everything I've been given from Primex does well.

I live near New Hope in Bucks County and there are a bunch of good places near me. I haven't shopped for shrubs and trees in a while, so I haven't really looked at that stock, but I'm sure you'd have no problems with these places. The Living Earth on Route 202 in New Hope has gorgeous indoor plants and a good selection of annuals and perennials. Another favorite off the beaten path in New Hope is Paxson Hill Farm. Lovely place to visit. They have flowers and shrubs. I guess they have trees too, but I haven't looked in that section. North of Doylestown on 611 is Bucks Country Gardens. That's a large concern and well staffed. A few miles N of there on 611 is Linden Hills Gardens in Ottsville. It's a smaller place but you might find more unusual shrubs there. This past weekend I was at Rhoads Gardens on DeKalb Pike ( Route 202 ) in North Wales. That's near the Montgomeryville Mall. I loved their selection of annual plants in the garden center and will probably go back tomorrow to buy more. I never did get to the perennials. My husband was rushing me. The display garden as you enter was really a wonderful mix of plant material. I would definitely check them out. It's another large set up that's well staffed. Check out the websites and you'll get a better idea.
