Just gorgeous! I love what you have done with your tillandsias, and I see you found your way to Rainforest Flora. Isn't it a cool place? You can walk around with your crate and fill 'er up! I hope you found the octopus plant you were looking for. And more, haha!

Where did you find all of your shells? I always am on the look out when I go to the beach. I never find anything like yours. Very pretty!

Wendi, the turbin shells are all over Bates Rd. beach at lo tide which is up at County Line/Rincon (just like the beach boy song). The abalone are from here and there swap meets and yard sales.

I love it! What kind of glue do you use? I have made some of the sea urchin jellies, but they sometimes fall out, and my string comes off, too. Glue would do the trick! I wonder if I could use hot glue?

it says on the site Gidget that you can use hot glue but wait for it to cool a second or two. Also E6000 available at Michaels. We drill drainage holes in the bottom of most of the shells (turbin) and then tie florist wire to that and the Tillandsia. The sea urchins are cool but I have 1 not shown literally growing our of the shell....

Roxanne - those are the coolest! I always love all the photos from around your place. You and your DH do some neat things!

Rox - is that a fuchsia tree? It's hard to keep fuchsia growing here even for one season because it's just too danged hot for too long. Their roots just can't survive. Love them, so I keep trying.

moonie, where are you...I had them in the ground on the North side of the house in Bakersfield...HOT and Freezing and they made it thru the 4 inches of snow 1 year. The upright ones are more hardy than the hanging ones. You can never over water a fuchia they say??????

Rox - I'm in north carolina. Our heat and humidity here is much different from what you get over on the other coast. I don't have any experience with the upright ones, don't think you can find them around here? But the hanging ones... 2 ways to kill them. From watering in the heat, and not watering in the heat. lol

I have never worked with the hanging ones. But do try an upright when you see them in the small quart containers at Home Depot or Lowes. You might be surprised. Put it in the ground though.
