Adding to my iris bed

I ordered my first iris bulbs from Schreiners in 2013. This year all but one are blooming and I am in love! I want to add to my collection but they can be SO expensive. Are there online suppliers that can be recommended that have less expensive bulbs? Is it important to purchase them from a supplier near me (Greenville, SC) or is anywhere in the US ok? I am looking forward to dividing the ones I have but it will be a few years I fear and I do not want to wait that long. Any info would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

I have ordered from BlueJ and all were true to name. Large selection and reasonable prices. Snowpeak is another great place to check out.

Since you have success you are giving the iris what they need. In zone 8a you are most likely going to be able to order from whomever you like. Take pictures!!!

The American Iris Society has a commercial section with lots of site for iris plants for sale. I believe Winterberry is close to you.

If you have a local iris society they will be the best place to buy from, but always buy from a reputable iris grower. Places like Wal mart, Lowes etc will have irises, but they will not be true to name..Also avoid places like Brecks and Springhills for the same reasons.. There are several great places to buy from...In TN, you have Iris City Gardens, Rockytop Gardens, and Wild Iris Rows..I am in TN and have bought from places in Oregon, Illinois, TN and several others places..

Sorry to say Snowpeak no longer in business. Dee's health will not allow her to work in the fields. She is still hybridizing and has a site for newbies.

Here is one close to me that I love - they could ship to you. They always include a few bonuses with any order. Always look absolutely wonderful when I've received them, and they always bloom the next year. Never any problems with getting the wrong thing. Great selection. Most are around $5 a rhizome. I've ordered from them every year.

Connie, thanks for the heads up on Wild Iris. Such ruffling on their 2015 introductions. I don't have any like that.
