The mantle here is the original marble mantle from the house. It was actually painted when the client's purchased the house but we sent it out to be stripped back to it's original condition which is what you see here. The wall color is a soft gray so it does blend pretty well with the natural marble fireplace surround.

Is the black arched insert inside the fireplace original or did you source that separately? We are trying to restore an original fireplace in Brooklyn and wondering where you had this done.
